Xiao Hui Wang (born 1957), interdisciplinary artist living in Germany and Shanghai. In 1986, obtained a Master's degree in Architecture from Tongji University, and was then sent by the university to study in Germany on a government scholarship. Currently lives in Shanghai and Munich.Her creative work spans across various fields including photography, video, sculpture, design, new media, AI art, and writing etc. She has held dozens of solo exhibitions in many countries. Her art pieces have been recognized and collected by internationally renowned art institutions and collectors. She has published more than 50 albums and books worldwide.She is the only Chinese artist among the 62 global artists included in the art history book “150 Years of Master pieces of Photography”published by the authoritative publisher Prestel in UK, USA and Germany.Her widely influential book is the autobiography “My Visual Diary”, which has won three literary awards, reprinted more than fifty times and best Seller for 20 years.Will be adapted into a movie in the near future. She has successfully hosted over a number of influential cultural exchange events and large-scale art projects between China and foreign countries. The German government granted her German-Chinese Friendship Award and 50 Chinese figuresShaping the Global Future by Hong Kong's Phoenix Weekly. At the end of 2017 she won the Athena Awards, becoming the first Chinese woman to win the global outstanding women award in 35 years.Most recently, she was received the honor of Academician of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts.
